Why we're doing this
Over 400 million people around the world are living with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes today. The Nordic region is home to the highest number of people with Type 1 diabetes, an auto-immune disease, per capita in the world.
The increasing number of people living with Type 2 diabetes is associated with lifestyle factors, including obesity, insufficient physical activity and the consumption of unhealthy foods. At the same time, exclusion, stigma and mental health issues are closely connected to both people living with diabetes and those caring for them.
BEAT Diabetes gathers and collaborates with organizations, entrepreneurs and other passionate individuals in three areas - Health Tech, Healthy Lifestyle & Wellbeing, and Inclusion & Awareness - to support those living with or affected by diabetes.

We organise several events and projects
By focusing on three high-impact areas - Health Tech, Healthy Lifestyles, and Inclusion & Wellbeing - we want to use our reach to raise public awareness about diabetes and drive positive change. We aim to do so together with companies, organisations and individuals who are as passionate as we are to shape a diabetes free future.
